About Me

home-1

Hi there. My name is Josh and let me first say thanks for visiting my site. I am creating this site more as a way to catalog my experiences and my journey as I learn astrophotography and astronomy. My hope is that maybe someone will find the things I am doing helpful or learn from the mistakes that I make.

I want to be as open and as transparent as possible. Astrophotography is not my job and I don't have unlimited funding nor am I sponsored in any way. If that ever changes I will be completely open about it but I am just an average guy following my passion for space and astronomy.

My approach to this will always be budget minded. Too many people start how to blogs where they showcase their hobby and explain how to do something with a multi thousand dollar tool. The theory is wonderful but I always felt it discouraging to those just starting out as it always made me feel like to get truly great results I had to have the best tools.

For this site I will document every tool I use and where I bought it, how much it cost, why I chose it and if it is truly necessary to have.
